Everyone wants to look their best for the camera, and our friendly staff will be happy to assist you in achieving this. In short, we recommend wearing clothing that makes you feel and look your best whilst still being comfortable, which can be different for every person. Make sure your outfits coordinate well with one another. Stick to a palette of one or two colours. Coordinated outfits look harmonious and pretty. Avoid patterns, checks, stripes and any logos on your outfits if possible. To make sure all of your outfits go well together, try laying out everyone’s outfits together the day before. Make up should be no different to what you would normally wear as we want you to look like you.  When you book with us, we will send you our Welcome Guide with tips and suggestions on what to wear.

Timing is always important to consider when it comes to photography, especially when children are involved. Timing can be the difference between a frustrating session and an enjoyable, memorable photoshoot. Nothing makes kids grouchy and uncooperative like being tired. Be sure that your family photoshoot doesn’t interrupt any of your kids’ nap-time or bedtime routines. Early morning is generally best for young children. Also make sure children (and adults!) are well-fed before the photoshoot. If they’re hungry, they might start to get a little antsy and cranky. Give your kids a healthy snack before the session and pack along a few extra snacks just in case.
If you are after an outdoor location shoot, the best time for natural lighting is either two hours before sunset or two hours after sunrise. 

Our studio only caters for small family groups not greater than 5 adults or teens, plus young children. If grandparents or a close relative wishes to attend the session and have some portraits, they are more than welcome to. However please note that with any portrait session including children, we require the child’s parent or legal guardian to be in attendance at the shoot. 

If you do have a large group to be photographed, there is no additional cost, we just recommend having the shoot at an outdoor location, such as a park or beach.

Celebrate Photography understands that sometime children can be unpredictable and not at their best. Being parents of four children ourselves we know how easy it is for an interrupted night or even an upset tummy to cause havoc the next day. Celebrate Photography will be happy to reschedule your portrait session to another day at no cost, if this is the case. Even if we have already commenced the shoot and you find that your young ones are not at their best, we can stop the shoot and reschedule for another day. It’s incredible sometimes what a difference just one day can make for little ones.

Some of our best images have been on an overcast day. Cloud cover provides a fantastic diffuser which softens bright sunlight and makes for fantastic photography. Although should heavy or persistent rain settle in, we will contact you prior to your shoot to make a decision on going ahead, or rescheduling to another day at no cost. Of course weather won’t affect our indoor studio portraits.

With Weddings and events, we will discuss wet weather contingencies, but our photographers are experienced enough to work with most weather conditions to ensure you will still receive beautiful images of your important day.

You will be required to pay for your session fee, or deposit upfront to secure the day. This can be done over the phone by credit or debit card, or via bank transfer. Our prices can be found on our website, and we will also email our pricing schedule to you when you book. Your session fee covers the time for your photo shoot, typically 1 hour, and your viewing session, up to 2 hours. The session fee does not include any prints or digital files, however when you return for your viewing session, your prepaid session fee can be used as credit towards any of our collection packages.

Your Gift Card will state on it, either a monetary value (eg $300) or what is included with your Gift card (eg portrait session & 8″x10″ print). Monetary Gift Cards can be used towards any portrait session fee, and full price prints. They are not valid with any other offer, special, collection package, frames, albums or mounted canvas, and are not redeemable for cash. You will find the conditions on the Gift Card itself.

To redeem, simply contact our studio as with any other booking, and book your preferred session time. A $50 refundable deposit will be required to confirm your session when using your Gift Card. However, this deposit can be credited towards your order or refundable when you attend for your viewing session appointment. You will only forfeit your deposit if you do not attend your session time and fail to give 24 hours notice.
